DIRECT Pojišťovna celebrates its first birthday
It is exactly one year since DIRECT Pojišťovna, the first and still only insurer in the Czech Republic to offer its products exclusively by direct selling channels, i.e. over the Internet and by telephone, entered the Czech market. Over this short period, the insurer attracted more than 23.000 motorists. This result clearly confirms the assumption that direct selling channels will play an ever important role in the Czech insurance market, copying the trends in West Europe.

Ms. Zdenka Pelikánová, CEO of DIRECT Pojišťovna, commented on the first and successful year of her company: ”We are more than pleased with the popularity of our products with motorists. DIRECT Pojišťovna entered the Czech market on May 21, 2007 with direct car insurance. At first, it offered Motor Third Party Liability insurance, adding CASCO in August 2007. This April, the company extended its product portfolio with motorcycle insurance.
