The summer months provide an opportunity for many drivers to get away from the traditional ‘home – work – shopping centre’ triangle that they know practically by heart, and to give their car the pleasure of a longer trip to a holiday destination in their own country or abroad. However, holiday travelling may contain many hazards, the existence of which drivers usually do not think about or allow for. And this is why DIRECT Pojišťovna now offers the “PROFI ASIST na léto” assistance service (PROFI ASIST for Summer).

Czech drivers are most frequently interested in assistance services for accidents. Road accidents account for approximately two thirds of all events reported to assistance services, while the remaining one third is usually related to breakdowns. The most frequent causes of vehicle breakdowns include failures of electrical equipment, less frequent being engine or fuel injector failures. The list of the most frequent “breakdowns” also contains tyre defects and other wheel damage. The other breakdowns reported to assistance services usually relate to the fuel system, cooling, clutch or gearbox. Ever more frequently, minor “accidents” caused by inattention on the part of drivers also occur, a typical example of which is filling up with the wrong type of fuel.

The “PROFI ASIST na léto” assistance service is designed especially for the summer months. Every customer who arranges car insurance with DIRECT Pojišťovna between 1 June and 31 August 2008 will get this exclusive assistance service free of charge. The “PROFI ASIST na léto” assistance service is always valid for a period of 2 months from the date it is arranged. This product covers the risks in the event of a road accident, vehicle breakdown or theft, provides help in a form of a flight or other transportation ticket, hotel accommodation, or through organizing help in the event of lost keys, for instance. In addition to this, it offers alternate transportation, delivery of funds or dispatch of a substitute driver.
As part of the “PROFI ASIST na léto” service, DIRECT Pojišťovna also provides a pre-travel service that provides motorists with some valuable advice and information (for instance, information on waiting times at border crossings, on the average prices of selected commodities, etc.)
