DIRECT Pojišťovna won bronze in the EFFIE 2008 competition
DIRECT Pojišťovna’s campaign called “Simplicity Wins” came away with the bronze EFFIE in the Financial Services category from this year’s EFFIE awards ceremony which took place on Thursday 6 November 2008 in the Crowne Plaza hotel in Prague. A total of 85 campaigns competed for the panel’s favour in the 12th year of this competition to find the most effective advertisement.

According to an international advertising survey (GWA), the EFFIE is the most prestigious competition in the field of commercial communication. It is held in thirty-five developed countries around the world and also has two multinational formats: the Euro Effie and the Global Effie. This year, 25 communications, media and advertising agencies matched their strengths in 6 different categories. The panel made its decisions on the basis of the measurable results of the campaigns, above all assessing their effectiveness, economy and close link to the set strategy.

DIRECT Pojišťovna entered the Czech market on 21 May 2007 with direct sales of auto insurance. Initially it offered third party liability insurance, to which it added automobile casco insurance in August 2007. In April of this year, it extended its product portfolio to include motorcycle insurance.
The sole shareholder of DIRECT Pojišťovna, a.s. is Intouch Insurance Group B.V., which is 50% owned by international group DIFI (Direct Insurance Financial Investments Ltd.) and 50% by British insurance group RSA (RSA Insurance Group Plc.).
