DIRECT Pojišťovna is the Most Dynamic Insurance Company of 2008
DIRECT Pojišťovna came away with the title of Most Dynamic Insurance Company of 2008 from this year’s prestigious MasterCard Bank of the Year 2008 competition. This was the first year to compete in this category, nominated were all insurance groups and entities, who actively offer at least one insurance product in the Czech Republic. DIRECT Pojišťovna thus won its victory among the strong competition of another 33 insurance companies. The ceremony for announcement of the results was held on 26 November 2008 in the Hybernia Theatre in Prague.

“Victory in the category of Most Dynamic Insurance Company of 2008 is not only an important acknowledgement of the results of our work to date, but also provides stimulus for us to not rest on our laurels,” the CCO of DIRECT Pojišťovna Klaudia Tóthová by way of comment on the results of the competition and adds:“I would like to say a big thank you to all those who participated in the results of DIRECT Pojišťovna. To our employees, our shareholders and above all our clients, because it is only thanks to their confidence that we are able to make bold plans for the future too.”
The aim of the MasterCard Bank of the Year competition, which is held every year under the patronage of the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic, is to acknowledge products and services offered by financial institutions active in Czech Republic. This year was already the seventh year, in which the competing financial institutions fought for the favour of the specialist panel and also the general public in twelve categories. The specialist panel included banking and financial specialists, representatives of leading companies, the media, state administration and also people from the political and academic sector.

DIRECT Pojišťovna entered the Czech market on 21 May 2007 with direct sales of auto insurance. Initially it offered third party liability insurance, to which it added automobile casco insurance in August 2007. In April of this year, it extended its product portfolio to include motorcycle insurance.
The sole shareholder of DIRECT Pojišťovna, a.s. is Intouch Insurance Group B.V., which is 50% owned by international group DIFI (Direct Insurance Financial Investments Ltd.) and 50% by British insurance group RSA (RSA Insurance Group Plc.).
