My Fleet – specially priced insurance for two and more vehicles
DIRECT Pojišťovna is introducing a new product that offers motorists significant savings on their insurance. “My Fleet” product brings around discounts for natural persons and self-employed who insure more than one vehicle with DIRECT Pojišťovna. When insuring the second vehicle, DIRECT Pojišťovna customers automatically obtain a 15% discount from the Motor Third Party Liability premium. When insuring each subsequent vehicle this discount to MTPL rises to a whole 20%. A maximum of five vehicles can be insured using the My Fleet product.

“Until now, fleet insurance has been mainly domain of companies, but now we introduce its benefits to natural persons. Motorists can now save even more on their insurance, not only thanks to our direct business model and DIRECT Pojišťovna’s favourable prices, but also thanks to discount to insurance for more than one vehicle,” says CCO Klaudia Tóthová.
In order to benefit from this fleet discount, the main condition has to be fulfilled. All the vehicles have to be insured by the same policy holder, but owner or driver of the vehicle may be different than the policy holder – it can be husband or wife, cohabiter, friend or even a neighbour.
The rising standard of living in the Czech Republic means that the number of Czech households with two or more cars is also growing. Since 1990, when 2.41 million private cars were registered in the country, this figure has risen by almost 2 million to 4.38 million in mid-2008. This means that in the Czech Republic there are 2.38 people per private car, with this figure falling to 1.93 in Prague. With 421 private cars per 1000 inhabitants, the Czech Republic is gradually approaching the average of the EU countries, which in 2005 was 476 private cars per 1000 inhabitants.
Summary of the basic conditions for “My Fleet” product:
This product only applies to personal cars and vans up to 3.5 t.
This product is only available to personal or self-employed persons.
The discount on Motor Third Party Liability is provided on the second to fifth (with a maximum of five) cars insured with DIRECT Pojišťovna by the same policy holder.
DIRECT Pojišťovna entered the Czech market on 21 May 2007 with direct sales of auto insurance. Initially it offered third party liability insurance, to which it added automobile casco insurance in August 2007. In April of this year, it extended its product portfolio to include motorcycle insurance.
The sole shareholder of DIRECT Pojišťovna, a.s. is Intouch Insurance Group B.V., which is 50% owned by international group DIFI (Direct Insurance Financial Investments Ltd.) and 50% by British insurance group RSA (RSA Insurance Group Plc.).
